Essential Functions:
- Prepare aircraft parts and assemblies for painting through cleaning, sanding, masking, and surface preparation.
- Mix primers, sealants, and topcoats according to engineering specifications and manufacturer requirements.
- Apply primers, coatings, and finish paints using conventional and specialized spray equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and planning documents.
- Match paint colors and finishes to required specifications while ensuring coating consistency and quality.
- Perform paint touch-ups, rework, and repairs as required.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment to verify coating thickness and quality standards.
- Maintain paint booths, spray guns, and related equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Handle and dispose of paints, solvents, and hazardous materials in accordance with company procedures and environmental regulations.
- Support production schedules while maintaining compliance with safety, OSHA, customer, and aerospace quality standards.
Requirements:
- Aircraft painting or aerospace painting experience required.
- Experience operating industrial spray guns and paint application equipment.
- Ability to prepare, mask, prime, and paint aircraft structures and components.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Ability to distinguish colors, shades, and surface finishes with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work from elevated platforms, lifts, scaffolding, and ladders.
- Must be willing and able to work any shift.
