Essential Functions:
- Prepare aircraft parts and assemblies for painting through cleaning, sanding, masking, and surface preparation.
- Mix primers, sealants, and topcoats according to engineering specifications and manufacturer requirements.
- Apply primers, coatings, and finish paints using conventional and specialized spray equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and planning documents.
- Match paint colors and finishes to required specifications while ensuring coating consistency and quality.
- Perform paint touch-ups, rework, and repairs as required.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment to verify coating thickness and quality standards.
- Maintain paint booths, spray guns, and related equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Handle and dispose of paints, solvents, and hazardous materials in accordance with company procedures and environmental regulations.
- Support production schedules while maintaining compliance with safety, OSHA, customer, and aerospace quality standards.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of aircraft painting experience.
- Experience with spray applications, primer coats, and final finishes.
- Ability to apply stenciling, gloss finishes, and specialty coatings.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation and paint mixing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering documents.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to pass respirator certification and painter skill testing.
